The Upper Room Experience: Love Made Visible

On the night before the cross, Jesus gathered with His disciples in an upper room for what would become a profoundly new kind of Passover. What had long been a meal remembering God’s deliverance from Egypt was now transformed—centered not on a lamb from the past, but on Jesus Himself. Taking bread and cup, He gave them new meaning: His body given, His blood poured out. A new covenant was being set in motion.

But this night was not only about remembrance—it was about revelation.

In a stunning act of humility, Jesus knelt and washed His disciples’ feet. The Teacher became the servant. The Lord took the lowest place. In doing so, He revealed the very heart of God’s kingdom: not power grasped, but love poured out.

And then He gave a command that would define His people from that moment forward:
“Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”

This is the Upper Room Experience—a sacred moment where worship, service, and love come together. It invites us not just to observe, but to participate: to receive Christ’s grace, to be cleansed and renewed, and to become people who love in the same self-giving, transformative way.

Come and enter the room. Sit at the table. Receive the gift. And carry His love into the world.
